Speaking Engagements With Patti

Looking for a compassionate, trauma-informed speaker on grief, burnout, or emotional wellness? I offer engaging and accessible talks for schools, workplaces, community groups, and mental health professionals. Whether you're planning a professional development day or a wellness event, my presentations make complex topics like grief and trauma easy to understand — and deeply human. Participants leave feeling seen, supported, and equipped with practical tools they can use in both their work and personal lives.

Speaking Topics

I offer talks and workshops on a range of topics related to grief, loss, trauma, and emotional wellness. Each presentation can be adapted to fit your audience — whether you're a school, healthcare team, workplace, or community group.

  • Understanding Grief & Loss

    • Beyond the "stages" — how grief actually works, how it shows up in everyday life, and how we can support ourselves and others through it.

  • Trauma-Informed Support

    • How trauma affects the brain, body, and behaviour, and how we can respond in ways that promote safety and connection.

  • Burnout & Compassion Fatigue

    • Identifying signs of emotional and physical burnout with tools to support nervous system regulation, boundaries, and recovery.

  • Children & Grief

    • Developmentally informed ways to support grieving children — at home, in classrooms, or in community programs.

  • Pet Loss & Grief

    • Recognizing this often-overlooked grief and offering space for people to honour and process the loss of a beloved animal.

  • Advance Care Planning

    • Encouraging meaningful conversations about end-of-life wishes — before a crisis — and making planning feel more approachable.

  • Dying and Death

    • Creating space to talk about the dying process, how to support someone at end-of-life, and the emotional and spiritual realities of death.
